Audio processing and local settings

• When you activate Volume Guard, the extension captures the audio stream of the selected tab solely to provide local volume normalization and output control.
• Tab audio is processed inside the browser. Volume Guard does not record, store, upload, sell, or share the audio.
• Presets, output volume, Night Mode, site exclusions and settings, language, account state, and the entitlement cache may be stored in Chrome local storage.

Account, authentication, and subscription data

• Email OTP sign-in processes your email address, a random installation-scoped device ID, authentication request and session state, and token hashes.
• The refresh token used to keep you signed in is stored in Chrome local storage restricted to extension contexts. Only token hashes are stored by the backend.
• IP addresses may be processed for authentication security and abuse-prevention rate limiting. They are not used for advertising, profiling, or location tracking.
• The Volume Guard backend stores the minimum records needed to operate accounts and subscriptions, including email-account records, device and session metadata, Lemon Squeezy customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status and period dates, and webhook-processing records.
• The backend uses PostgreSQL for these records, Resend to send authentication email, and encrypted AWS S3 backups. These providers process data only to deliver the relevant service.

Payments

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for Volume Guard Pro. It handles checkout, payment processing, taxes, receipts, and payment records. Volume Guard does not directly process or store raw payment credentials such as card numbers. The Volume Guard backend receives and stores the identifiers, status, and dates needed to synchronize subscription state and Pro entitlement.

Diagnostics and tracking

Issue reports and diagnostics are not transmitted automatically. You review and submit them yourself. Volume Guard does not use browser fingerprinting or advertising tracking, and it does not sell user data.

Retention and deletion

• Signing out removes local authentication data and the entitlement cache. Other local settings are removed when you uninstall the extension or clear its Chrome storage.
• Server records are retained only as needed to operate accounts and subscriptions, protect security, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified. Backup copies expire through a rolling retention cycle.
• For access or deletion requests, contact the support email below. Do not post personal data in a public issue.
• Transaction records held by Lemon Squeezy follow its retention requirements and applicable law.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Information received from Chrome extension APIs is used only to provide Volume Guard's user-facing features and is handled in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Terms of Service

• Volume Guard helps normalize web-tab audio and reduce sudden loud sounds, but it cannot guarantee identical perceived loudness for all content.
• Core normalization and safety features are provided on Free. A Pro subscription provides the subscription-only features shown in the extension.
• You must have the right to access the content and accounts you use and must follow applicable law and site terms.
• Features or service terms may change for reliability, security, or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated through the extension or support channel.
• The service is provided as available and does not guarantee operation on every website, audio source, or device.

Subscriptions and Cancellation

• Pro is a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Before payment, the Lemon Squeezy checkout shows the product, price, currency, taxes, and billing interval.
• You may cancel at any time through Manage subscription. Unless canceled, the subscription renews for the next billing period.
• After cancellation, Pro remains available through the current paid period, then changes to Free after the period ends and entitlement synchronization completes.
• If a payment or subscription change is delayed, use Refresh subscription status in the extension.

Refunds

• Submit refund requests through the Lemon Squeezy seller-support path shown on your purchase receipt. Eligibility is reviewed under applicable law and the terms disclosed at purchase.
• Canceling stops the next automatic renewal but does not automatically refund a period that has already been paid.
• For a duplicate or unauthorized charge, or a suspected failure to provide the service, contact the Lemon Squeezy seller-support path with your receipt.

Do not post your email address, OTP, authentication tokens, order, customer, or subscription IDs, or other personal data in a public issue. Use email for account, privacy-access, or deletion requests. For billing and refund questions, first use the Lemon Squeezy seller-support path shown on your receipt.
